Why Our Soaps?

Why our soaps are gentler on skin than regular soaps!

Most soaps on the market will dry your skin out like no tomorrow! I have honestly only seen a few soapmakers, who I have seen formulate their soap properly. To me properly means it has been not only saponified (the process of using lye, water and oil to make the soap) but that the oil/lye/water proportion is correct. AND, to also make sure they are superfatting the soap (meaning leaving a portion of oils and/or butters unsaponified in the soap. To do this one or more of three things is done:

1: The recipe is calculated to make sure that there is an amount of butters/oil unsaponified.

2: Some will add extra butters or Oils after the saponification has taken place to ensure which oils and butters are super fatting their soap

3: Some add in extra emollient ingredients like glycerin, honey, etc.

Our soaps first of all are superfatted, we then have added extra butters AND vegetable glycerin as well :) We usually use shea butter but also have been known to use mango butter, olive butter, and other unique butters as well.
